Work overtime: Dikshit to CWG contractors

"There is hardly any time left we all will have to work overtime to honour deadlines," she told a meeting held to review progress of various key infrastructure projects linked to the event. In the meeting, attended by PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan, she reviewed the progress work of various projects being implemented by the Public Works Department.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of work of Barapula elevated road, Ring Road bypass, Ghazipur grade separator and Uttar Pradesh link road. "It will be in the fitness of things if these projects are completed by March-2010," she said. She further underlined the importance of quality construction and directed to clear the hindrances relating to the projects in the shortest possible time.

The contractors have been asked to submit daily progress reports of the work. "It was decided that hindrances, if any will be resolved at the highest level. The contractors have been told to submit a detailed schedule of key indicators. Further, they have been asked to submit daily progress reports," an official said. The departments concerned have also been directed to issue necessary clearances on same the day of receipt of requests from the project officials, the official said.
