JOIN USBollywood actor Ranveer Singh says his on-screen chemistry with Deepika Padukone is the highlight of their upcoming film, Ram Leela. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film is an adaptation of Shakespearean epic ‘Romeo and Juliet’ set in violent times.
“I believe Deepika and I were destined to do this film. It is a love story like ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and it forms the core of the film. I think chemistry is the driving force of the film. I hope it works,” Ranveer says.
The romantic drama, with Ranveer and Deepika in leading roles, is set for a November release. The 28-year-old actor says he has put a lot of effort into the film, which he describes as his ‘most special till date’. “I have given a lot for this film — worked really hard. I am thrilled to be doing a film with Sanjay Bhansali,” he adds.
The Band Baaja Baaraat star has been romantically linked with most of his female co-stars, including Anushka Sharma and Sonakshi Sinha. And, now, Deepika is the latest on that list.
Reacting to this, Ranveer says that such reports do not affect him or draw his attention. In the past, when asked if the two (Ranveer and Deepika) were dating, both had evaded a direct reply. This is the first time the two actors have been paired opposite each other. Despite several rumours about the couple’s off-screen relationship, the two are always seen in each other’s company.
