In the wake of President Pranab Mukherjee’s visit to the City, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) undertook pothole filling drive hurriedly in the last five days.

The potholes were filled from HAL Airport Road to Raj Bhavan Road stretch, the route which Mukherjee used on Monday.

Routine work

However, one of the Palike officials said that the activity is just a part of their routine work. “We thought of filling the potholes few days later, but did it quickly as the President is visiting. Five to six Palike engineers executed the work in different wards, the official added.

Bangalore Mayor B S Satyanarayana said that filling up potholes has been taken up in all the wards of the City. He said the work is not restricted to HAL Airport Road-Raj Bhavan Road stretch.

“Now that the rains have subsided, patch works on the roads have also been taken up by Palike. Counting the number of potholes in the City is an impossible task. But we are making our best efforts to fill the potholes,” Satyanarayana added.
