UP kid among Kenya terror attack victims

An Uttar Pradesh boy is among the dead in the terror attack at a shopping mall in Kenyan capital Nairobi, his family members said Tuesday.

Pramanshu Jain, 8, hails from Lalitpur in the Bundekhand area, his uncle Harsh Kumar Jain said.

Pramanshu's father Manoj Kumar Jain works for the Bank of Baroda, and was shifted to Indore on a transfer a few years back. The family says that he was later promoted as branch manager to Nairobi two months back.

They had gone to the Westgate Mall Saturday with a woman bank employee.
Pramanshu's death has shaken the Jain household.

The family said they were informed that minutes after the family in Nairobi went inside the Westgate Mall, terrorists stormed the mall and started lobbing hand grenades and firing indiscriminately.

Pramanshu was killed on the spot, his mother Mukta and sister Poorvi, 13, were hit by bullets in their leg and hands, and are recovering at a Nairobi medical facility.

The woman bank employee accompanying the Jain family is dead and their driver is still missing, the family members said.
