An autorickshaw driver was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a minor.
According to Malleswaram police, the 11-year-old victim approached Suresh Babu, 29, a resident of Lakshmi Narayanapura in Srirampura, to be dropped at the City Market. After she got into the auto, Babu took her to a park behind the KC General Hospital and attempted to rape her. The victim managed to escape and began crying.
A few residents gathered at the spot and informed the police. Babu abandoned his vehicle near the park and fled. The autorickshaw owner helped the police arrest Babu.
