Memorable moments at the fest

The two-day inter-collegiate commerce as well as cultural fest ‘Zenith-13’, organised by the students of the commerce department of PES Degree College, saw them present a colourful programme.

The programme was an amalgamation of cultural as well as technical rounds, which gave the students an opportunity to try their hands at both.

The first day of the competition had technical rounds like ice breaker, HR management, ‘turn coat’, ‘product launch’ and business quiz.

The second day saw cultural rounds like group singing, face painting, collage,‘mad ads’ and a western dance.

The second and the final-year students of the college were involved in organising the fest and they say that it was a challenge for them to organise the fest and get participation from colleges across the City.

Bhargava, a final-year student, says that the fest was a big success and they had been preparing for a long time.

“There is a lot that goes into a fest of this scale. Though, it was the final-year students who were mainly involved in organising the fest, the first-year and some of the second-year students helped us to a great extent.

It was a huge challenge to get so many sponsors as well colleges to participate in all the events,” says Bhargava.

The students were divided into groups and each group approached a set of colleges as well as sponsors for participation.

Chandan, a student, notes that though getting sponsors was a tough job, they were able to do it.

“We became confident after a couple of them agreed to sponsor us. Many students came to the fest despite their internal examinations. Our teachers supported us in more ways than possible, they helped us in approaching colleges and gave us some useful tips to organise a good show,” he says.

The fest saw some very colourful and energetic performances by the cultural team of the college.
