Shettar to be inducted in cabinet on Nov 17: DV

 BJP State President and Udupi-Chikmagalur MP D V Sadananda Gowda informed that the Assembly Speaker Jagadish Shettar will tender resignation on Monday and will be inducted into the Cabinet on November 17.

Speaking to mediapersons here on the sidelines of taluk-level folklore sports organised as part of the forthcoming ‘Vishwa Tulu Sahitya Sammelan,’ here on Sunday, he clarified that there is no proposal to induct or drop any other ministers from the cabinet.

He said that the legislative party meeting is scheduled to be held on November 18 and top leaders from the party would attend the meet. The issue of forming co-ordination committee will be taken up for discussion during the meet. The co-ordination committee to be formed will take the decision on selecting the new Speaker of the Assembly. Till then, the Deputy Speaker will discharge the duty as the acting Speaker of the Assembly, he said and added that the new Speaker would be elected during the coming session, he said.

Gowda said that 90 per cent of the differences had been settled within the party, he said.
He warned that the party MLAs or ministers, who indulge in criticising the government or indulge in anti-party activities, will be dealt with iron hand.
