Security guard, driver arrested for house burglary

Koramangala police have arrested a security guard, driver and their associate for the recent burglary at the house of an educationist and recovered Rs 1.8 crore worth valuables stolen from the house.

Krishnamurthy, a relative of Dr Sri Krishna, an educationist, who runs two medical colleges and also a super speciality hospital in the State, had lodged a complaint with Koramangala police on September 19 about the burglary.

Dr Krishna had been to Tamil Nadu with his family on September 17 and the burglary came to light when he returned on September 19.

Miscreants had broken into the house cutting through the window railings of the master bedroom and made away with Rs 55 lakh in cash and Rs 1.3 crore worth gold ornaments.

Tracked through phone

Koramangala police said it was an easy case as the security guard posted at the house and the car driver were missing. Police said they tracked them down through their mobile phone calls.

Police have now arrested Kishore, the security guard and Praveen, the car driver and their other associate Yesu, a resident of Shantinagar. Police said another man involved in the crime is at large.
