Izzat train tickets distributed in Mandya

Speaking at a function here, Union Minister of State for Railways, K H Muniyappa said an attempt is being made to reach to the poor in unorganised sector through ‘Izzat’ tickets.’ The tickets, priced at Rs 25 (inclusive of surcharges) are offered to those whose monthly income does not exceed Rs 1,500. A ticket-holder is entitled to travel within a distance of 100 kms from the point of purchase.

Muniyappa told the state government to hand over 300 acres of land to the Railways to facilitate completion of the doubling work between Ramanagaram and Mysore.
He also assured that the construction of flyover near Pandavapura railway station in Mandya would be completed within eight or nine months if the land is handed over to the Railways.
