Left parties rally on Oct 8

As a part of their preparation for Lok Sabha elections next year, State units of Left parties are organising a public rally on October 8 in City.

Senior leaders including CPM Politbureau member Brinda Karat and CPI all India leader D Raja will participate.

“The Left parties that have listed a 10-point agenda for providing an alternative to the existing policies of UPA and NDA, will also emphasise on them in the rally,” said State CPM Secretary, G Sreeram Reddy.

The 10-point agenda includes implementation of land reform measures, stepping up public investment for infrastructure, introduction of universal public distribution system with 35 kg foodgrain at a maximum price of Rs 2/kg per month for all families among others.
