Bangaloreans are not choosy when it comes to partying.

Just about any day of the week will do for them to hit the dance floor. The last weekend, saw a lot of Bangaloreans, dance the night away to the mixes of DJ Mel Reeves, a London-based female DJ, who has been taking the world by storm, with her energetic sets.

Not only was it a night of good music but glamour too with the DJ, who has also won several beauty pageants back home.

She performed to a large crowd at a popular restaurant in UB City, as part of ‘Kingfisher Ultra Soul Flyp’. Stirring up the party spirits of Bangaloreans, Mel’s set included an interesting mix of progressive, house, R ‘n’ B and hip-hop.

Her influences shone through, in the choice of songs, given how she played her own versions of songs like Calvin Harris’ ‘Feel So Close’ and ‘Sweet Nothing’, ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ by ‘Swedish House Mafia’, Hardwell’s ‘Spaceman’, ‘Million Voices by ‘Otto Knows’ and ‘Reload’ by Sebastian Ingrosso and Tommy Trash.

By Bangalore standards, the party went on late into the night and people were actually turned away, after a certain point because of the sheer numbers that had turned up. Party-goers were clearly having a great time, thanks to both the music and the free-flowing alcohol.

“My respect for female DJs has gone up a notch today. DJ Mel was gorgeous and ruled the entire dance floor with her mixes. It was a crazy party that I’ll remember for a long time!” said Yash, who attended the gig.

Yasmin, another party-goer said, that she was waiting for the Sunday night party since the beginning of the week. “I’m a regular here and I find it one of the best place to unwind. These parties are programmed well and there’s always fresh talent to check out,” she said.

DJ Mel Reeves, who has become a popular name in the club circuits throughout UK, Dubai, Croatia, Spain, India and Singapore was performing, in the City, for the second time. Sharing her experience, Mel said, “I wanted to try out some of the mixes people know and test some new stuff. Everyone was well-informed about the music and that really made it a pleasure for me to play. I’ve seen a couple of the clubs in Bangalore and it’s one of the best in night life that I’ve come across. I hope to return soon!”
