<p>Upset by the snubbing he received, retired police officer Shankar Bidari on Saturday quit the Samajawadi Party (SP). He is planning either to form a new political outfit or join another political party.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Addressing reporters in Bangalore, Bidari said his well wishers are not encouraging him to float a new party as the Lok Sabha elections are around the corner. He sent his resignation letter to the party’s State president Babagouda Patil. “I was sent an SMS by the SP General Secretary Kiranmoy stating that they have named me a member of the national executive committee and removed me from the State president post. I was shocked with the manner in which I was removed,” he said. <br /><br />Bidari, however, did not blame the party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and instead pointed fingers at the ‘controller’ of the party in the State. “It was based on his report that I was removed,” he said, hinting at the lone SP MLA in the State, C P Yogeeshwara.</p>
