‘Global Standard’

German artist Alfons Knogl, one of Goethe residents currently in the City, is showing the result of his residency at 1 Shanthi Road Gallery. The event called ‘Global Standard’ will be held on October 19, 7 pm and will feature recent cement sculptures and new works connected to the artist’s ‘coffeetable’ series. The title refers to the global GS1 system, which standardises and numbers all kind of products. The title also deals with the inter-dependence between an individual artist’s practice and global market understanding of form and material. It will be on view till October 22. Entry is fee.

In concert

The ‘Vespa Vibe Addicted to House Concert’ will be held at the Pebble Lounge on October 19, 9 pm, where Rohan Kapoor will swoon the audience.


NGMA Bengaluru, in collaboration with Bangalore Film Society and Maraa, is holding a film festival and discussion dedicated to the labour in cinema and the hidden side of cinema titled ‘Out of Focus’ at NGMA, Palace Road on October 19, 4.30 pm.

Interesting mix

Jazz Theatre is showcasing Mike del Ferro with Gino Banks (drums) and Sheldon Dsilva (bass) on October 19, 8.30 pm at Windmills Craftworks, 331 Road, 5B EPIP Zone, Whitefield. ‘Love Can...’

The Indian Institute of Cartroonists is organising an exhibition of political cartoons and caricatures titled, ‘The Politickle Pickle’, by Shreyas Navare till October 26 at Indian Cartoon Gallery, No. 1, Midford House, Midford Garden, off MG Road, Trinity Circle.

Intricate jewellery

The ‘Jewels of India’ exhibition will be held till October 21 at Koramangala Indoor Stadium. The exhibition will feature over 80 jewellers across India. Actress Suman Ranganath is the brand ambassador for the 15th edition. This edition is featuring the latest designs and trends in jewellery.

Cultural delight

Mudra is celebrating its annual dance and music festival on October 19 (6 pm) and 20 (6.30 pm) at Seva Sadan, 14th Cross, Malleswaram.

Kannada classes

Kannada Prasaara Parishat, a non-profit organisation, will start its next batch of spoken Kannada classes and Kannada script read-write learning classes in separate batches from October 20.
