The entire campus of St Anne’s First Grade College for Women on Miller’s Road was charged with actions and activities. ‘Epoch 2013’, the annual inter-collegiate fest, was organised recently. This year’s theme was ‘verve and vibrancy’.

Keeping up with the theme, students maintained high energy during the two-day fest. Adding to the excitement was the sheer number of colleges that took part. As many as 26 colleges made it to the annual fest.

Savitha, a student union member, said, “Not only the college hosting the event, even the colleges that participated in the fest felt that the vigour on the campus was intoxicating. There was so much energy all around us!”

She continued, “‘Epoch 2013’ was conducted on a much bigger scale this time, and as a witness to this was the number of colleges that came to be a part of the event. For two days, only loud cheer and applause filled the air on the campus.”

The different cultural events included group dance, duet dance, group singing, pencil sketching, fashion show, quiz, debate, essay writing and mime.

It was time to be competitive while having fun for the students from other colleges.
Harish, a student of RBMS College, said, “The fest provided us a good opportunity to showcase our talents.

Most importantly, what we learnt here was how our country can be developed in the future though we have limited resources. This is one message we should all know as youngsters and it can take us a long way in being successful.”

For students who were part of the organising team, the fest was the time to assure them that their hard work had paid off. Syeda Nihad, a student, said, “The response we received, both in terms of floating crowd and bringing in many participants, was overwhelming.

Only when there are many students in fests do we know that the event has been received well.” At the end of the second day, Sri Sai Satyanarayana College emerged as the winners, bagging the overall champion’s trophy.
