In order to speed up ward-level works, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will go for single-window clearance, according to BBMP Standing Committee Chairman for ward-level works, A H Basavaraju.
Briefing reporters, he said the BBMP has earmarked Rs 494 crore for ward-level works, of which Rs 2 crore has been allocated for old wards and Rs 3 crore for new wards.
“Since the implementation of projects takes years, the committee held a meeting on Wednesday to set up single-window system for speedy implementation of 2,787 works worth Rs 494 crore in all 198 wards in the current year. The work codes would be cleared in a day by the chief finance officer,” he added.
He said that once work code is issued, zonal-level engineers should get administrative and technical approval within a week and float tenders.
