Comfy look with slouchy pants

Comfy look with slouchy pants

Thanks to celebrities like Rihanna, Nicole Richie, Kristen Stewart, Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, slouchy trousers are making a big comeback for fall. They are the new essentials for your winter wardrobe.

Loose, flowing and totally comfortable – slouchy pants, the trend of 90s is probably one of the most difficult ones to pull off, but if you do it correctly, you are almost guaranteed to look fabulous. By slouchy pants, we generally mean a pant that is loose at the top and tapered at the bottom. An extreme version is a harem pant but there are different versions too.

High-waist or low rise with tapered legs that are cropped or full length, these roomy pants allow you to wear loose fitting clothing with a little sex appeal.  The key to mastering this trend is to ensure that your silhouette is feminine and does not make figure look ugly. The fabrics could be silk, satin or cotton. Opt for trousers that are high-rise and tapered at the ankle. It gives a slim look.

Finally, add a belt and create an hourglass shaped figure. Fairly sleek, a black slouchy pant will be flattering to your curves and won’t make you look like a clown. It looks great with solid and printed tops.

To be on the safer side, avoid pants that are extremely dropped from the crotches. But if you like this look and want to pull it off then do consider celebrities who have been seen sporting this trend very often.

Pair your slouchy pants with a more tailored or slim-fitting top for a sleeker overall look. Wear heels if you want a longer, leaner silhouette or with pumps or high-heeled boots for a sophisticated look.

You can even carry it for evening parties. Pair your black pants with a bright yellow crop top. Add glamour quotient with a chunky necklace and matching drop. Keep the rest of the outfit neutral. A basic black oversized clutch and strappy platform sandals will definitely turn heads!

So, get rid of those tight fitted trousers or those uncomfortable jeans, fall is bringing you the new trend, slouchy pants.
