Social networking sites are becoming the new battlefields for rival politicians to take potshots at each other.

The latest one is from senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh who described BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as a “megalomaniac psychopath liar” and suggested that Sushma Swaraj would be a “better leader” for the post.

Swaraj, however, quickly dismissed Singh’s comments with a retort on twitter, “Even I think Digvijay Singhji is a better candidate than Rahul Gandhi.”

While slamming Modi for his remarks that Jawaharlal Nehru did not attend the funeral of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Singh said, “BJP wants Indian voters to vote for this Megalomaniac Psychopath Lier (sic)! Couldn’t BJP find a better leader? What’s wrong with Sushma?”

This is not the first time that Singh has said that Swaraj suits better for the role of BJP Prime Ministerial candidate. Swaraj, too, has replied that Singh has an old habit of creating disputes and was doing just that in the circumstances.

Replying to Modi’s allegations, Singh cited the autobiography of former Prime Minister Morarji Desai saying it “confirms Nehru and Rajendra Prasad’s participation at the funeral in Mumbai”.
