Three persons sustained injures in a leopard attack at Kalludevarahalli, in the taluk, on Wednesday.

The injured, identified as Yogesh, Somashekar and Nagaraj, are being treated at the Government Hospital in the city.

It is said that the leopard pounced on Yogesh around 11.30 am, when he was on his way to his farm.

Yogesh sustained severe injuries on his shoulder, back and face as it attacked him several times within a span of a few minutes. The villagers, who heard the cry for help, rushed to the spot and shifted Yogesh to the hospital.

Nagaraj and Somashekar, on hearing about the incident, decided to see the spot where the leopard attacked Yogesh, out of curiosity.

When they reached the spot, they were also attacked by the same leopard. Both of them have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

The villagers, irked by the delay in Forest department officials arriving late on the spot, protested the apathy and took the officials to task.
