Know about the developmental works undertaken in your areas, says TP member

He was speaking after inaugurating the concrete road works in a dalit colony at Anakanagondi in Chikkaballapur on Thursday. The road works have been taken up a cost of Rs 7 lakh.

Villagers should be aware of the developmental works being undertaken in their villages, expressed Gowda.

ZP member G R Narayan-aswamy who spoke on the occasion urged residents of the areas where a developmental work had been launched by an elected representative, to monitor them.

Asking the people to be alert, he urged them to report any irregularities in the work to their respective representatives. “It is only then quality can be maintained in the works,” Narayanaswamy added.

Another project

MLA K P Bache Gowda inaugurated another concrete road work, taken up at a cost of Rs 1 lakh at Harikere in the taluk.

KMP Director K V Nagaraj, Zilla Panchayat member P Muniraju, JD(S) taluk unit president K T Narayanaswamy, Public Works Department Assistant Executive Engineer Nagaraju, ZP AEE Chandraiah and others were present on the occasion.
Maintain quality of road

MLC S Kailash inaugurated concrete road works at Shettihalli in Kolar on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion he said that it was the responsibility of both the contractors and people to ensure the quality of the roads being constructed.
The road work has been taken up under Area Development Fund and Rs 4 lakh has been sanctioned for the purpose.

“The elected representative on their part should also ensure the quality of the works,” said Kailash who urged contractors to be honest with their work.

The road connecting the village’s main road to Ganesh temple has been accorded priority since devotees travel on this road to visit the temple, expressed Kailash who told contractors that he wanted see a good road by his next visit.

Additional funds

“A memorandum had been submitted by the BJP district unit for the construction of road. The funds for the first phase of developmental works has been released by Deputy Commissioner. Additional funds for the works will be sanctioned after January 2010,” Kailash added.

BJP district unit President Sriram, Jagadheeshwarachari Gupta, M Rangappa, Ratnamma, Sukanya, Jayaram Reddy, contractor Naagnaal Venkatesh and others were present.
