Last Updated 20 November 2013, 21:31 IST

The slugfest between the Congress and the BJP over Narendra Modi’s visit to Bangalore continued on Wednesday with the BJP accusing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of making adverse statement against the party’s prime ministerial candidate as he was not able to digest the “success” of the Sunday rally.

Addressing a press conference in Bangalore, BJP leader and MLC Ashwathnarayana wondered the reason behind Siddaramaiah utilising a platform like former prime minister Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary function to target Modi. Siddaramaiah on Tuesday accused Modi of indulging in divisive politicis and, that his presence will not help the revival of the state BJP.

Ashwathnarayana said Siddaramaiah should focus on providing constructive programmes that would help in the betterment of all sections of society. The present government was dividing the society by announcing programmes like Shaadi Baghya which was confined to the minorities.

He said Siddaramaiah should send a delegation from the state to study the office of Modi in Gujarat which has got ISO 9001 certification. “Let the team replicate some of the good points at the Chief Minister’s office here which full of unwanted elements,” he remarked.
