Speaking after inaugurating the camp, Superintendent of Police M N Nagaraj said the department decided to pay tributes to the deceased in a unique way by organising a blood donation camp.

“One should not be hesitant towards donating blood. It improves one’s health,” he said.
Cash prizes ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 6 lakh have been distributed to the personnel involved in the last year’s Mavinahola encounter, he informed.

ANF SP Vasudev Murthy, Deputy Commandant Somanna, Koppa DySP Abu Ahad, Red Cross medical officer Dr Kiran Kumar from Shimoga, NR Pura SI Revanna, Bashir Ahmed were present on the occasion.
