Court orders probe against MLA's son

A local court has ordered an inquiry into allegations of fraud against the son of Maddur legislator D C Thammanna.

Lakshman, a resident of Sanjaynagar, had filed a private complaint in the 8th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court accusing Santosh of cheating him (Lakshman) of Rs nine crore in a land deal.

According to the complaint, Santosh failed to register a piece of land in favour of Lakshman despite receiving Rs nine crore towards the sale price. He also failed  to return the money.
An FIR has been filed against Santosh at Sanjaynagar police station, as directed by the court.

Sandeep Patil, DCP (North) said the court has directed an  investigation and asked that the officers submit a report to the court.
