The budding orators

The first-year management students of Community Institute of Management Studies (CIMS) conducted the ‘CIMS Speakers Club’ activity recently on their campus.

The activity gave the students an opportunity to hone their public speaking skills.
Shashikiran L, a faculty member, says that the students were told to prepare a talk on a particular topic and had been asked to make it interesting.  “We chose two key speakers for the event and asked them to come prepared on a couple of subjects. The objective was to see if they could handle the stress and also manage to make others listen to them,” he says.

Students on the other hand listened to their classmates with all their attention.
They were quite thrilled to see that their friends could address such a large gathering.

“The speeches that both of them delivered were interesting. In fact, they made it very interactive. It was a great effort by both of them. The activity helped us in getting out of our shell and identifying our talent,” says Deepak, a student.
