JOIN USThe deceased Vijaykumar (25) and Suma (21) were found hanging on Saturday night in the former’s house. Vijayakumar was a car driver with a private firm on M G Road and had come to Bangalore a year back from Kamsasagara in Kanakapura Taluk and set up a home in BHEL Layout in Rajarajeshwari Nagar.
Suma was Vijaykumar’s neighbour from Kamsasagara and the two were reportedly in love for over a year. She came to Vijaykumar’s house on Saturday afternoon.
Vijaykumar had reportedly called Suma to Bangalore after the two had decided to get married and set up a household. Sources said that the two had also decided to cut off ties with their respective families. But depression could have eventually prompted the two to take the extreme step, police said.
The couple’s perceived opposition from the respective families on grounds of caste could have been the cause for suicide. It is still unclear if the two families knew about the
relationship.
