Even though, two other functions and five weddings were slated in the same vicinity, there was no logjam, the police added. "The organisers of the public function themselves had volunteered to ensure smooth flow of traffic. Hence, it did not turn out to be a nightmare for us," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic and Security) Praveen Sood.

The RSS had hired BMTC buses for fetching people from various parts of the City. As a result, scores of vehicles were lined up on the roads leading to the venue.
Praveen Sood added that three parking lots were set up for the buses and other vehicles - two near the Gayathri Vihar entrance and another on Jayamahal Road. “It prevented gridlock,” he pointed out.

Traffic was normal before the programme started. However, it turned out to be a nuisance for the traffic policemen from 7 to 8:30 pm. “We were able to heave a sigh of relief only at 8:30 pm,” he remarked.

A large number of police personnel were deployed for overseeing security arrangements.
