Shabang Hegde scalped eleven wickets for the match to propel President’s XI to a 10-wicket win over Shimoga Zone in the KSCA inter-zonal U--14 tournament here.

Having posted a big first innings total of 358 on the opening day of their two-day tie, President’s had the stiff task of getting rid of a Shimoga batting line-up which looked in good nick. However, Shimoga, overnight 151 for three, slumped to 229 all out. Left-arm spinner Shabang returned with figures of six for 62. Following on, Shimoga fared worse against Shabang – who scalped five wickets for 65 runs – and the rest of President’s XI’s bowling unit as they fizzled out for 149 in 47.1 overs. 

President’s XI, trailing by 20 runs, posted 24 runs for no loss in 3.4 overs to claim five points while Shimoga finished with -1.
