Former deputy chief minister and BJP leader Eshwarappa has claimed that BJP will win 22 of 28 seats in the State in the forthcoming parliamentary elections. After the outcome of the results, the Congress government in the State will collapse and there will be a fresh election within six months, he felt.

He was speaking after inaugurating a workshop for the BJP workers at the district BJP office in Chikmagalur on Monday. A special meeting of various Morchas will be held in every constituency of the State. Special workshops are also organised to ensure that the party comes to power in the Centre.  The party has the power to change the nation’s current pathetic situation.

Various factors like corruption, failure to control the price rise, lack of support from farmers, compromising on the security of the nation are the failures of the Central government, he said.

Taking a dig at the state Congress leaders and the chief minister, Eshwarappa said there is lack of co-ordination between the chief minister and the KPCC president. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been issuing different statements everyday. “When the BJP was in power it had taken initiative to solve power crisis. But, now the State government is not making an attempt to solve the impending problem. People are already fed up over the governance,” he said.

BSY to rejoin BJP

Commenting on former chief minister and KJP President B S Yeddyurappa’s possible return to the BJP, Eshwarappa said that Yeddyurappa has expressed his desire to return to the BJP in order to make Narendra Modi as the prime minister. Eshwarappa  said Yeddyurappa has not placed any demands before the BJP to join the party. Even the national leaders are in favour of BSY’s re-entry. BJP District President D N Jeevaraj who was present at the workshop, demanded the chief minister to convene a special session to take up a resolution opposing Kasturirangan report. During Udupi-Chikmagalur bypoll, the Union Minister had promised of a grant of Rs 14,000 crore to help areca growers, but in contrast, the Central government is now mulling over banning areca, BJP District President ridiculed.
