<p>Students going to the final year of college are trying to make the best use of time so that they don’t have to rush through the portions at the end of the academic year. That’s why they are not complaining even as their colleges hold extra classes for them. They would rather start early than regret later. Besides, covering portions early gives them the time to revise and understand a subject better.<br /><br /></p>.<p>“We have already started classes for the final year and I feel it works better this way as we can always devise a strategy to score better in a subject, refer to other books and go through the question papers of the previous years. All this can only be done if we have time at the end of the semester. These extra classes will help us in the end,” says Reny, a student of Oxford College of Science.<br /><br />Though they have to sacrifice a part of their holidays, the students aren’t complaining. “Our holidays have been cut short because of the extra classes. But we are getting the Christmas and New Year break before the college officially reopens. Thanks to the extra classes, we now have a clue about the kind of subjects that we will be studying in the coming year and can decide which one to concentrate on. Also we have been given a list of the portions that will be covered in each subject. This gives us an upper hand as we can start our preparations early,” says Pallavi, a student of MES College. While some are happy that they will complete their portions fast, others say they had to cancel their plans due to these extra classes. Harsh, a management student from BMS College of Management, informs that he had planned a trip with his friends and had to cancel it due to the extra classes.<br /><br />“I was looking forward to go to Goa with my friends. We had made all the arrangements but could not go due to these extra classes. We might have to postpone our holiday now. Since summer is too hot to go anywhere, we will have to wait for a long time before we can plan another trip,” he says.<br /><br />Students also point out that they might have to opt for more than one internship and work on a project and dissertation in the coming semester. Completing the portions fast will give them the time to concentrate on their projects and dissertation. “It is very difficult to study for more than a couple of hours a day while we are interning. Similarly, dissertation also takes up a lot of time. Hence, most students try to finish their portions before they start their internship,” adds Pallavi. <br /></p>
