Antrix predicts 15 pc growth in turnover

 Antrix Corporation, the commercial wing of the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro), on Sunday said it expects around 15 per cent growth in turnover as more countries are using the Isro’s infrastructure and expertise to launch satellites for their use.

Chairman and managing director, Antrix Corporation V S Hegde told reporters that in 2012-13, the Corporation registered a revenue of Rs 1,300 crore and expects about 15 per cent growth in 2014-15.

Revenue increase

“Commercial activities are absolutely going well with revenue expected to increase in the coming years,” he said.

Hegde said that SPOT-7, an advanced French Remote Sensing Satellite, will be launched on-board PSLV-C23 during first quarter of 2014.

He said besides SPOT-7, a 712 kg weighing advanced Earth observation satellite and four other small satellites will also be launched during the same period.

Besides, contracts were signed to launch large satellites for Germany and three others for the United Kingdom.
