Telugu film actor ends life

Depressed over dwindling opportunities and piling financial commitments, Tollywood actor Uday Kiran Vajapeyajula committed suicide at his Srinagar Colony residence here at around 12:15 am on Sunday.

His wife and mother found his listless body hanging in his personal gym and rushed him to Apollo Hospital at Jubilee Hills, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) V Satyanarayana, it seemed to be a case of suicide and the actor was apparently suffering from depression.

Police registered a case of suspicious death and sent the body to Osmania Hospital for post-mortem examination. The actor was alone in his flat when he died.

His wife Vishita had gone to Manikonda on personal work. She suspected something amiss when Kiran did not respond to her phone calls, and rushed home to find him dead.
Sources say Uday made some calls to his friends before ending his life. He spoke last to his friend Bhupal.

His last SMS went to his wife Vishita. When his friends found that his cellphone was switched off, they too quickly alerted neighbours, but by then it was too late to save him.
Uday Kiran’s career was on slide, with six big flops in recent years. He was born on January 26, 1980, to V V K Murthy and Nirmala.
