Verma's knock lifts Himachal

SL Verma’s unbeaten 121 lifted Himachal Pradesh to 265/5 in 79 overs against Karnataka on the third day of their four-day under-25 quarterfinal match for the CK Nayudu Trophy in Amtan, Himachal Pradesh. 

After the visitors, resuming on their overnight score of 549/9, declared after reaching 602, their bowlers had made inroads into the Himachal batting line-up before the unroken stand between Verma and AK Kaushik (52 batting) brought the hosts back into the enounter.

They, however, still trail by 337 runs. In the morning session, K Hoysala (50 not out) and Aditya B Sagar (61 not out) helped themselves to half-centuries
