'Implement Kannada in Pavagad'

He was speaking after inaugurating the Rajyotsava programme organised by the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike and Karnataka Madakari Nayaka Sene in Kariyammanapalya recently.
He promised to extend necessary help to the organisations which work for Kannada language. He called upon the  Kannada Sahitya Parishat to come forward to teach Kannada in Nagalamadike hobli.

“We should be proud of our mother tongue. However efforts should also be made to learn other languages, as learning language helps one to improve knowledge”, he said.
He promised to hold a discussion with the officials on conducting Nidugallu utsava and converting Nidugallu into a tourist spot. He also said that welcome arch would be constructed at the Nidugal entrance.

Former legislator K M Timmarayappa said that even though huts free scheme has been announced, it has not been implemented. He said that special programmes should be formed for the implementation of Kannada language in Pavagad, he said.

Zilla Panchayat member M Nagendrappa said even though Pavagad is in the bordering area it has contributed greatly to the Kannada literature.
