Road safety rally held

In order to create awareness on traffic rules among general public, the department of Police organised the 25th road safety jatha at Ponnampet, near here, on Monday.

Gonikoppa Circle Inspector P K Raju, Ponnampet SI Shivalingaiah, ASI Mariswami and the Police department staff led the jatha. 

Students from Government First Grade College and Appachchakavi Vidyalaya took part in it. The jatha concluded at Ramakrishna Sharadashrama. 

Circle Inspector P K Raju called upon the students to follow traffic rules for road safety.Government First Grade College, Gonikoppa, Principal Shivalinga Shetty, lecturers Dr B S Prabhu, Ramesh among others were present.

Napoklu

Free uniforms were distributed to schoolchildren, by the SSF to mark silver jubilee celebrations of the organisation at Markajul Hidaya premises at Kottamudi near Napoklu.

In his introductory remarks, Shiyabuddin Nurani said that on the occasion of SSF turning 25 years, it was decided to organise 25 welfare programmes. As part of the programme, 25 youth were married in a mass marriage programme. Uniforms will be distributed to 25,000 school students, he said.

District SSF Chairman Hamid Musliyar presided over the programme.
