Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen S S Kumar, Quartermaster General and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps called upon the forces to be vigilant in the face of the present security scenario. He also presented the best pioneer unit rolling trophy for 2008-2009 to 1,807 Pioneer Unit. A biennial conference of senior officers, a wreath laying ceremony and a band display for the troops were also held on the occasion.
Earlier, a two-minute silence was observed by the troops to pay homage to people who died during the 26/11 carnage in Mumbai.
