Chain snatched

Two men who came on a bike snatched a 40-gram gold chain valued at Rs 80,000 from a woman near her house in Jnanaganga Nagar on Tuesday night.

Indrani, 43, was returning home after shopping at a nearby shop at 9 pm on Tuesday when the incident took place. Jnanabharathi Police have registered a case.

Held for cheating

On a tip-off that some oil traders in the RMC Yard were producing substandard sesame oil and selling it under reputed brand names, sleuths from the CCB Misuse & Cheating Wing raided two premises – Somesh Oils International Limited and Suma Oil Agencies – in RMC yard.

The police have arrested Manjunath Reddy, 25, and seized over 7,000 litres of adulterated oil valued at over Rs 10 lakh and fake labels of reputed brands.
