<p>Vinay Pathak’s quirky sense of humour has always tickled the funny bone of audiences across all age groups. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The actor’s comic timing is enviable and he says that it is theatre which has made him what he is today.<br /><br />The actor, who was here to perform at Ranga Shankara, says, “I have lost count of the number of times that I have come to Bangalore, whether it is to promote my films or to perform. Bangalore is like a second home for me. It has been a long association with Bangalore and it is fantastic to perform here owing to the wonderful audience,” he says.<br /><br />He has a long list of performances to his credit. But he says that he has no favourites and only does what he likes.<br /><br /> “I enjoy performing in plays and all the plays that I have done are very close to my heart. My initial training has been in theatre and I have learnt a lot from it. However, I like performing in other mediums also,” he says.<br /><br />He has a lot to say about the budding theatre scene in Bangalore and feels that the City has an audience not just for English theatre, but also for Hindi and regional theatre.<br /><br /> “It is very heartening to see that the people here enjoy theatre in different languages. If you compare this to other cities in the country, the response here is amazing. A Hindi play in any other part of South India might be unheard of but not in Bangalore.<br /><br /> Such is the diversity of this city. It’s a melting pot of cultures and talents,” he says.<br />The actor says it is by the virtue of theatre that he gets talked about and he is all set to be a part of interesting ventures. <br /><br />His performances in Das Vidaniya, Khosla Ka Ghosla etc had made him quite a household name. <br /><br />The actor does not want to bracket himself in the comic genre but wants to do different kind of films. “I want to explore other opportunities and I am already doing some very interesting roles,” he says.<br /><br />He has a lot to look forward to as of now, “Two of my films will be on floors very soon. One of them is Gaur Bhari Dastan, which is a very interesting film and is the biopic of a freedom fighter. The other one is Chalo Dilli- Part 2. I am quite excited about both the films,” he wraps up.<br /></p>
