Adaab Rafi-2’, a concert held at the Good Shepherd Auditorium and organised by Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar, made the audience relive the classics of Mohammad Rafi yet again.

The team of singers — Shrikant Narayan, Ram Tirath, Sinchan Dixit, Samanvita Sharma, Vikram Dixit and Prithvi Raj — made the evening quite memorable as they sang some popular numbers of the legendary singer.

The event had many songs featuring the hit pairs of yesteryears like Dev Anand and Waheeda Rahman; Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaaz to name a few. Deewana Hua Badal, Teri Aankhon Ke Siva Ye Reshmi Zulfein etc were some of the songs sung at the show.

Music-lovers had a great time at the concert as they sang along and reminisced the olden days. While some became nostalgic, others were happy to hear these melodies after a long time.

“I was in college the last time I heard these songs. Rafi was a very popular singer that time and his songs have managed to floor people across all age groups till date. Almost all his songs are evergreen and every time I hear them, I become nostalgic and start humming them. The concert brought back old memories and it was very nice to hear some of the classics which have almost been forgotten now,” said Prashanth, who was enjoying the show with his family.

The singers also made it a point to give a bit of trivia about the late singer and his style of singing and how he managed to win so many hearts with his voice. Some rare photographs of the singer were also shown on the screen to the audience.

While some singers attempted to imitate Rafi’s style, many stuck to their original style and enthralled the audience, thereby receiving a lot of appreciation and applause from them.

Popular songs like Yeh Reshmi Zulfein got a great response from the audience. In fact, as soon as the name of the song was announced, there was a loud cheer from the crowd.“Rafi is definitely my favourite singer and his voice is unforgettable. I don’t think anyone can replace him. I don’t miss any of his tribute shows as they give me the opportunity to listen to some of my favourite songs. The group that performed today was very entertaining and I really liked the fact that a small introduction was given before each song. I came with my family and all of us enjoyed it,” said Anita Narayan, a member of the audience.
