Even as it prepared for a tough election campaign, the Congress was fighting to save the blushes with the BJP claiming that the tagline on the advertisement showing Rahul Gandhi launching the party’s blitzkrieg was copied from Modi.
BJP leaders said the tagline of the Congress advertisement ‘Main nahin, Hum’ (Not I, but we’) was coined by Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi for a brainstorming session held in 2011.
“They are copycats,” senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha said, while party Shahnawaz Hussain scoffed at the Congress’ effort saying: “Nakal ke liye bhi akal chaiye (you need brains to even copy).”
