<p>The Congress on Friday struggled to explain the reasons behind naming a judge by the Centre to probe allegations of snooping on a woman’s daily activities against Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Newly appointed party spokesperson and president of women’s wing Shobha Oza could not elaborate as she insisted: “We will wait for the government to appoint members of the committee.”<br /><br />Oza, in her capacity as the Mahila Congress President, had led the attack on Modi following claims by a web portal that the then Gujarat Home Minister Amit Shah kept a close watch on a young woman at the behest of the Chief Minister.<br /><br />Fielding a barrage of questions, the spokesperson said all that she could do was to request the home minister to constitute the committee at the earliest. <br /><br />The Union Cabinet, on December 26, had announced the appointment of a Commission of Inquiry into the snooping of a woman in Gujarat allegedly at the behest of Modi and two other cases in different states. <br /></p>
