<p> N Manjunatha Prasad, IAS, Managing Director, KSRTC, has been elected Vice President of Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU).<br /><br /></p>.<p>ASRTU has 62 members inclusive of seven associate members, who constitute the backbone of mobility for the urban and rural population, across the country.<br /><br />ASRTU came into existence in 1965 and it is headed by Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India as the ex-officio President. <br /><br />General body<br /><br />The Vice President of the ASRTU is elected by the General Body from among the Chief Executives of the state road transport undertakings.<br /></p>
