JOIN US Actor Anu Prabhakar is learnt to have moved a family court seeking divorce from her husband Krishna Kumar, film producer and son of veteran actress Jayanthi. The court will take up the case for hearing on Thursday.
The couple have reportedly sought divorce under the Hindu Marriage Act 13 (B). The couple, who entered into wedlock on March 1, 2002, decided to part ways on account of differences, after about 12 years of marriage, according to sources close to them.
It is said that Anu, daughter of a popular actor Gayathri Prabhakar, has sought Rs one crore from her husband as alimony. Anu entered the tinsel world as a child artiste in ‘Chapala Chennigaraya’. Her performance in ‘Shaapa’ and ‘Pareekshe’ were praised and she won State awards. She also tried her hand at a few television reality shows. The couple were not available for comment.
