A total of 242 booths will be set up in the district for the election to be held on December 18, said Additional Deputy Commissioner Madan G Nayak.
Addressing reporters, Nayak said that the members of all the 34 zilla panchayats can exercise their franchise at the Zilla Panchayat Office itself.
Polling booths
Similarly, a polling booth will be set at the Town Municipality Office for the convenience of 44 town municipality members. Polling booths will be set up at all taluk, town and gram panchayats, he added.
Nayak said that polling booths will also be provided for three gram panchayats in the district, where the number of voters is only five. Kalasa is the largest gram panchayat with 29 voters, he added.
He informed that the counting proceedures will be held at the STJ College Hall
He further added that none of the booths in the district has been identified as sensitive or highly sensitive booths and hence there are less possibilities of any intoward incidents.
