Inter-Health University Athletic Championship from Dec 5

Speaking to the mediapersons here, Manipal University Pro Chancellor Dr H S Ballal informed that dental and nursing students too were participating in the meet. A total of 207 athletes from 12 universities will take part.

RGUHS which hosted the inaugural edition in Bangalore last year, had emerged overall champions in the men’s and women’s category.  Sports Authority of India, New Delhi Director Rachna Govil will be the chief guest at the inaugural function.

The participating teams are: Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore;  Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai; SVIMS University Tirupati; KLE University Belgaum;  Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nasik; Sri Devraj Urs Medical College; Tamaka, Kolar, Yenepoya University, Mangalore; Nitte University, Mangalore; Dr N.T.R. University of Health Science, Vijayawada; Sri B.M. Patil Medical College, BLDE University, Sholapur Road, Bijapur; Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot; and Manipal University, Manipal. Vice Chancellor Dr R P Warrier, Registrar G K Prabhu  were present.
