<p>The Janata Dal (United) on Thursday stated that it was likely to contest from 10 Lok Sabha constituencies in the State based on its pre-poll alliance with Janata Dal (Secular), which is keen on the formation of third front with 11 other political parties at the national level.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Speaking to mediapersons, the JD(U) State president M P Nadagouda said that the party had already received several names from the local party leaders for the candidature from the 10 constituencies.<br /><br />He said that the names and the future course of action in Karnataka will be discussed at the party convention to be held at Patna on February 8 and 9.<br /><br />The JD(U) is hoping to win at least one seat from Karnataka, with Nadagouda himself likely to contest from Bagalkot. From Shimoga, the JD(U) is likely to field B Dharmappa, a former MLA from Sagar constituency.<br /><br />Nadagouda said that the party was focusing on strengthening its cadre to achieve the goals.<br /><br />“Post Delhi elections and the AAP victory, our cadre is also hopeful of achieving success without money or muscle power in the upcoming election,” he said.<br /><br />Nadagouda also fuelled speculations of a possible alliance with the AAP in Karnataka by stating that he was in touch with the local leaders of the party.<br /></p>
