The much-awaited ‘Ram Leela’ has hit the theatres this weekend. While Chiranjeevi Sarja admits that he is excited, he is also a bit nervous about standing up to the responsibility thrust on him. About the movie, Chiranjeevi says he signed on the dotted line because the script and his role threw up a host of challenges and he was more than ready to face them all.

About his role, he says, “The character that I play faces life with the right attitude but he appears to be a little irresponsible in handling certain situations. He is positive but careless in a lot of ways. How he changes to become a more responsible guy and the circumstances that lead to these changes is what the story is about.” He thinks people will like the character because it exudes a lot of positivity and sends out a definite message, to young people, to stay calm even in the worst crisis, states Chiranjeevi.

Chiranjeevi has no special makeover for this film, but his hair is rather overgrown and has an unkempt look throughout the movie.

“The character in this movie has given me the freedom to be myself. In fact, with this character, I have discovered another side of the actor in me. I relate well to the character because it’s a lot like how I am in real life,” he adds. He says that he never gets tensed or worked up.

“I’ve learnt to handle any stressful situation in an easy way and that’s exactly why I didn’t have to take any extra effort to portray the character in the movie,” he adds.

Actress Amulya has been paired opposite Chiranjeevi in the film and what is evident throughout is their sizzling chemistry. “Amulya and I never really got down to talking in the beginning but we got along really well towards the end. We would talk so much and this bonding reflects on screen as well. She’s a thorough professional,” he adds.

Chiranjeevi has already started working on his next project which is an action film. He has also been working overtime to get a lean but sturdy look for the character. Ask him if he ever gets bored of work? He confesses that he never gets tired of work and doesn’t know what it is  like to get bored. “I look at every new project as my very first film and this helps me keep an open mind. I am always willing to learn,” he observes.
