Over 1,397 devotees take part in various rituals including Ganahoma

A large number of women offered prayers to the portrait of Anasuyadevi and Dattathreya. Bangles, turmeric and vermeleon was distributed as prasadam after the prayers.

Unneccesary intervention

Addressing the reporters, BJP Mahila Morcha Secretary Bharathi Shetty said that it is due to the unneccesary intervention of the so called intellectuals that Dattapeeta issue is getting serious by the day.

Rs 2.8 crore released

MLA C T Ravi said that a sum of Rs 2.8 crore has been released by the government for the repair of the cave. “People who have been making hue and cry that government is not releasing money for repair of cave have now gone to the court and brought stay order for the repair works,” Ravi said.

Splendid sankeerthana yathra was held from Bolarameshwara temple to Ram Mandir before going to the peeta. Dattamaladharis, who are wearing Dattamale, took out a procession in the town on Saturday.  The procession, which proceeded through main road, concluded at Anjaneya Temple premises. BJP hobli unit president Hemmakki Girish, VHP leaders Dattatreya Bhat, Balakrishna Prabhu, Shyamprasad Pai, Bajrangdal leaders Jagadish Bhat, Prakash and Yuvaraj were present.

Women from Bangalore, Belgaum, Mangalore, Hubli, Kodagu, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district took part in the programme. BJP Mahila Morcha President Saroja Sridhar, Bajarang Dal State Convener Suryanarayan and others were present.
