The Bharatiya Saamagaana Sabha is presenting its fifth annual music festival called Manodharma Sangeeta Utsava from February 12 to 16 at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall.

‘Manodharma Sangeetha’ measures the veracity of the musician’s ability, agility, scholarship, creative power, skill, dexterity etc.

On February 12, 6.30 pm, there will be a jugalbandi by N Ravikiran (chitraveena) and Mysore Manjunath (violin). On February 13, 6.30 pm Sudha Ragunathan will
present Carnatic vocal recital. Sanjeev Abhyankar (Hindustani vocal) will perform on February 14, 6.30 pm. Dr M Balamuralikrishna will present Carnatic vocal recital on February 15, 6.30 pm.        
                                                 
A Carnatic vocal concert will be presented by Abhishek Raghuram on February 16, 6.30 pm. Saint Thyagaraja’s ‘Divine Melody of Five Gems’ will also be rendered on
February 16, 10 am.

‘Divine Melody of Five Gems’ will be the sonorous polarisation of male and female voices, and classical instruments of Indian music including such instruments like violin, veena, flute, sitar and keyboard.  Purandhara Devaranamas, the vocal recital of Purandaradasa compositions, by Smitha Bellur in Hindustani style will be
presented on February 16, 11.30 am.

    The ‘Fourth Saamagaana Mathanga National Award’ will be conferred on vocalist and musicologist ‘Sangeetha Kalanidhi’ Nedunuri Krishnamurthy on February 16, 5 pm.
