Nagma turns social worker

The actress, who had debuted opposite Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan, in the 1990 hit Baghi, tasted real box office success with Bhojpuri films and now she wants to work for the area where this "sweet language" is spoken.

“Though I have worked in Bhojpuri films and had been introduced to the culture of the area, it was after visiting that region that I came to know that a lot needs to be done to improve the living conditions and an initiative has already been made with the help of Pardesiya Kala Sangam and Jagriti, NGOs," she informed.

"We have prepared a draft for the financial development of the region which aims at providing more technical know-how to the local craftsmen which would improve the quality of their goods," said the actress. Nagma, who is a member of the Congress party, said that she is willing to contest the elections from any part of the country her party decides on.
