“Verve 2009 has always been an exciting forum for young minds to explore their creativity and business acumen through our unique fest themes and events. Every year numerous colleges join us in our celebration of learning and synergy coupled with fun and festivity. Since its inception, Verve has steadily grown to become one of the much awaited management fests and has now come to attract some of the best, nationally acclaimed B-`schools of today,” said Tina Joseph, one of the programme co-ordinators of Verve.

'Survival of the Fittest' was the theme of Verve 2009 and aimed to provide a platform for future corporate leaders to test this theory. “We chose it as a tribute to the survivors of every battle ever fought  from the Spartan's and Persian and Corporations and Companies who have survived the recession in the wake of the sub-prime crisis,” she added.

The keenly fought competitive events covered most B School topics from Finance to Human Resources, Information Technology and Advertising with 20 colleges participating. The highlight of the fest were the prizes that were awarded to the best Business Manager. From the ten initial participants, the final two that made the winning cut were Aneesh Sebastian from Christ University and Aditya from BIMS respectively. There were also several other keenly fought and contested events. Among the most popular were, ‘Morph’ The Information Technology Event that tested the knowledge of participants in the latest trends and developments in the world of information-technology and their ability to use it to their best advantage in the workplace.

This event was won by Jobininan and Deepak Paul from Christ University. The finance event - Ploutos - won by Arindam Chatterjee and Chidamabaram from BIMS tested the participants skills in managing finances under situations of severe strain and stress.

Business Quiz was won by Srikant Mohan and Ali Nizamudeen from Acharya Institute of Management. The two-day programme drew to a close with the overall trophy going to the Bhartidasan Institute of Management (BIMS).
