A student at a City college was arrested on Wednesday night after he was found wearing a police uniform and acting like a policeman following a road accident.

Wearing a police uniform, Alam Pasha, 22, had arrived at the Silk Board junction following a road accident and asked the crowd to disperse. He even conducted an “investigation” into the accident. Later, Madiwala police personnel reached the spot. They presumed Pasha to be one of their colleagues. After completing formalities of the accident, they asked Pasha where he was posted. He claimed he was an ASI attached to the 9th battalion of the KSRP. But police were not convinced and had a closer look at his “uniform”.

He wore a black belt, black shoes and a black jerkin. After removing his jerkin, police found a nameplate with the letters ‘KSP’ embossed on it. Some “stars” were also embossed on the shoulder badge. But he failed to produce ID card.
